Published in 2013, When Coffee Speaks: Stories from and of Latin American Coffeepeople is a collection of interviews with people involved in coffee production in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and Colombia. The When Coffee Speaks blog chronicles the process of conducting the book’s interviews and the research necessary to prepare for them.
Together, the book and blog provide a comprehensive systemic look at all facets of coffee production—agricultural, cultural, political, technical, environmental, industrial, traditional, familial, and financial—in these four countries (and the US) between 2012 and 2016.
